“Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the
word of God.”
Romans 10:17
Faith is the process by which Gloster Baptist
Church chooses to disciple each member in sharing their “Faith”
testimony with those they meet throughout their life. Two times each
year we offer this training to interested believers who have made a
great commitment to the great commission found in Matthew 28:18-20.
The journey of faith begins with an intensive
14 week training period in which members are led to develop the skills
necessary to share their faith with others.
First, the learner develops a Sunday School
testimony describing the benefits of spending time each week in Bible
Study with others who are seeking to discover the truths found in God’s
word.
Second, the learner develops a evangelistic
testimony to introduce people to the life-changing event which took
place in their life.
Third, the learner is asked to commit to
memory scriptures which explain what it means to place one’s faith in
Jesus.
During this journey the learner will be able
to join other faith partners in visiting individuals who have a need to
hear about Jesus. These visits are made to those who have visited our
church or have moved into our community recently.
Faith also emphasizes the need to minister to
the needs of those within our church family who may have experienced
sickness, loss of loved ones, or other special needs. Visits are made to
these members to encourage them in their Christian walk and to extend
our hearts in compassion to them.
If you would like to learn how to share your
faith please contact the pastor for more information on upcoming
training schedules.
Faithfully Yours, Ron McLellan, Pastor
